PRESS CREDENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
The complimentary press pass is reserved for credentialed media members who are actively working on behalf of a media outlet. Only journalists or reporters, writers or editors with credentials from a journal, newspaper, magazine, radio or TV station, wire service, or other news organization will be accredited. Industry analysts are not eligible for a press pass.
If you are an independent producer, such as a freelance writer, blogger, podcast owner, or another type of content creator, see “document requirements” below.
DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS
Print/Online Journalists
- Photo of your press credentials.
- Name, title, organization.
- Link to an article you have posted within the previous month (this must include your byline)
- If you are a freelance journalist, we will need an article assignment from a verified media outlet.
Broadcast
- Photo of your press credentials.
- Name, title, organization.
- Link to a piece you have posted within the previous month (this must include your byline)
Podcast
- Links to previous podcasts produced within the prior 3 months.
- Statistics on listenership, the number of podcasts produced on an annual basis, and miscellaneous marketing that takes place to promote the podcast.
- Plans and goals of attending this event (IE: We plan to create a podcast covering the future of solar and storage that will be read by 25,000 people).
Blog/E-newsletter
- Proof of being in existence for over one year, posting a minimum of twice per month, and have a readership of at least 5,000 unique visitors.
- Links to previous posts/articles discussing our event. Disregard if this is your first time applying for a press pass.
- Three links to pieces that were produced in the past 3 months.
- Statistics on website traffic and readership in the prior month, and for the prior calendar year.
- Plans and goals of attending this event (IE: We plan to write 3 blog posts covering the future of solar and storage that will be read by 25,000 people).
WHAT/WHO IS INELIGIBLE FOR A PRESS PASS
- Exhibitor booth staff and agencies that are not editorial media professionals.
- Anyone who we think is not covering the event as working news media.
- Sales and business development representatives.
- Media outlets can be denied a press pass for any reason.
- Non-traditional media outlets are subject to review as indicated above (i.e. bloggers, podcasters).
- Company bloggers will not be accepted (i.e. a company that sells solar panels that has a blog). The blog should be a primary source of income.
- Submission of social media sites like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc. as credentials will not be accepted.
- Previous acceptance of a press pass does not grant you access to the current event.
- Blogs, podcasts, newsletters etc. that are not written in an editorial or media-like fashion.
WHAT’S INCLUDED WITH A PRESS PASS?
The complimentary press pass gives media the opportunity to visit the entire event. The pass includes access to:
- Full Conference and exhibit hall education.
- General session access and reserved seating towards the front.
- Access to all the of networking events
- Access to the media room, which includes:
- Private rooms for interviews (first-come-first-serve)
- Light food and beverages – including coffee – throughout the event
- Workspaces with power strips
